The Turbosmart TS-2 6262 turbocharger features a T14 Inconel turbine wheel, a material known for its ability to withstand extreme exhaust gas temperatures. This turbocharger is designed for performance applications where reliability under high heat is crucial. Its water-cooled design helps manage operating temperatures, contributing to a longer service life and consistent performance, especially during demanding use.

Engineered with modern materials and manufacturing techniques, the TS-2 series aims to provide a balance of speed and durability. The compressor housings are made from lightweight aluminum, reducing overall weight. The turbine housings are investment cast from 310s stainless steel, offering good resistance to heat and corrosion. The housings themselves are designed using CFD analysis to optimize airflow and achieve specific A/R ratios, like the 0.82 A/R on this model, which influences boost response and top-end power delivery. Aggressive aerodynamics are further enhanced by the 7+7 splitter wheels, designed to improve airflow into the compressor.

This turbocharger utilizes a proprietary dual ceramic bearing system, which is key to its noted transient response. This means the turbo can spool up more quickly when you demand power, leading to a more immediate feel when accelerating. The integrated iron backplate on the center housing adds to its robust construction. It comes equipped with an IWG75 internal wastegate and V-band inlet and outlet connections, simplifying installation in many custom setups.
