UMI Performance 64-72 GM A-Body 1in Tubular Rear Sway Bar Chassis Mounted

This UMI Performance rear sway bar is built with a 1-inch diameter hollow tube, offering a significant upgrade for your 1964-1972 GM A-Body vehicle. It's designed to reduce the binding often found with factory-style bars by using separate chassis and differential housing mounts. This setup allows for more independent movement, which translates to better control and a more predictable feel when you're pushing your car, whether on the street, at an auto-cross event, or on the drag strip.

The mounting system is where this bar really shines. UMI's CNC machined clamps are built to grip axle tubes ranging from 2.75 inches to 3.25 inches in diameter, accommodating common rear ends like the 10-bolt, 12-bolt, 9-inch, M9, and S60. The chassis mounts are double-shear units secured by four 3/8-inch fasteners, and while drilling into the crossmember is required, a template and instructions are included for a straightforward installation. For drag racing applications, a unique hex adjuster lets you pre-load the bar to help your car launch straight.

You can select the bar's stiffness by choosing one of three mounting holes on the chassis bracket: the longest hole is for street driving, the middle hole is for auto-cross and road racing, and the shortest hole is for drag strip use. The bar also features heavy-duty CrMo spherical rod ends with Teflon races for smooth operation and premium, greaseable polyurethane bushings. This bar is designed to clear a wide variety of rear ends and is finished with a durable powder coat for long-lasting protection.
