UMI Performance 64-72 GM A-Body Front Upper A-arms Adjustable 0.9in Taller Ball Joints

UMI Performance is known for building solid suspension components for classic American muscle cars, and these adjustable upper A-arms are a prime example. If you're looking to significantly improve the handling and steering response of your 1964-1972 GM A-body, like a Chevelle, GTO, or Skylark, these arms are designed to do just that. They precisely position a taller upper ball joint to create a more favorable camber curve during cornering, which translates to better grip and a more planted feel on the road.

Beyond just the ball joint height, these A-arms feature a relocated ball joint mounting pad. This advanced design increases caster, which is crucial for improving steering stability and self-centering, giving you a more confident feel behind the wheel, especially at higher speeds. The arms themselves are constructed from 1.250-inch diameter DOM tubing with a 0.120-inch wall thickness, TIG welded for strength and a clean appearance. The cross shafts are machined from 4130 CrMo steel and zinc plated, while the laser-cut ball joint pad comes with the taller ball joints already installed. A laser-cut bump stop brace is also integrated, and it can accommodate a travel limiter if you're setting up the car for drag racing. These arms are designed to work with factory height spindles and are best suited for lowered vehicles; UMI does not recommend them for stock height or raised vehicles as the bump stop brace may interfere with the cross brace.

When you order these A-arms, they come with recommended alignment specifications and detailed installation instructions to guide you through the process. A separate hardware kit, part number 4003, is available and includes all the necessary Grade 8 bolts, washers, and nylock nuts to mount them to your vehicle. These are hand-built in the USA using US materials and are available in a red or black powder coat finish.
