UMI Performance 64-72 GM A-Body Front Upper A-arms Adjustable 1/2in Taller Ball Joints

If you're looking to get the most out of your classic GM A-body's handling, UMI Performance's adjustable upper A-arms are a solid choice. These arms are specifically designed for vehicles like the Chevrolet Chevelle, Pontiac GTO, and Buick Skylark from 1964-1972. They precisely position a 1/2-inch taller upper ball joint, which significantly improves the camber curve. This change results in more grip from your front tires, making a noticeable difference in how your car handles corners.

Beyond just the taller ball joint, these A-arms also relocate the ball joint mounting plate rearward. This adjustment increases caster, which is key for improving steering feel and stability, especially at higher speeds. The arms themselves are built from strong 1.250-inch diameter DOM tubing with 0.120-inch wall thickness, and the cross shafts are machined from CrMo steel for durability. They feature TIG welding for a strong, clean finish and come with polyurethane bump stops. The design also accommodates a travel limiter if you're setting up the car for drag racing. These are intended to work with factory-height spindles and are best suited for lowered vehicles; UMI recommends against using them on stock-height or lifted cars to avoid interference with the bump stop brace.

This kit includes the upper A-arms with the taller ball joints already installed, along with polyurethane bump stops. UMI also includes recommended alignment specifications and detailed installation instructions to help you get them fitted correctly. For installation, you'll need the UMI Performance upper A-arm hardware kit (Part # 4003), which includes Grade 8 bolts, washers, and nylock nuts to mount the arms to your vehicle. These arms are designed to be a direct bolt-in with factory or UMI lower A-arms and factory spindles, especially when using tall ball joints.
