This kit bundles together geometry-corrected A-arms, tall ball joints, rebound-adjustable monotube shocks, a heavy-duty sway bar, and a bump steer kit, all designed to work together for a significant upgrade in handling performance. It's built to make the stock GM front clip perform as well as it possibly can, offering a true bolt-on installation for vehicles like the Chevrolet Chevelle, Pontiac GTO, and Buick Skylark.
The foundation of this package is UMI's coilover-only lower A-arms, which feature caster improvement and tall ball joints for better geometry. A notable design aspect is the ability to remove the spring and shock without disassembling the spindle, making adjustments at the track much quicker. The upper A-arm uses rod ends for smooth operation and easier adjustment without shims. The included 1-5/16” sway bar, paired with UMI’s fabricated end links, is designed to significantly reduce body roll and improve transitions during spirited driving. The package includes racing coilover springs with 850 lb/in rates, matched with UMI's rebound-adjustable monotube shocks that offer 40 clicks of adjustment, easily accessible in the engine bay area for rapid tuning.
This kit allows for up to 10 degrees of static caster without needing to move the spindle pin, and provides up to 1.2 degrees of camber gain per inch of travel. It's designed to work with factory spindles and offers an adjustable lowering range of 0-2 inches. All UMI Performance suspension components are fabricated and tested in the USA, with this specific kit raced and proven on UMI’s own 1972 LeMans test car. Thrust bearings and an adjusting wrench are included to make ride height changes straightforward.
