UMI Performance 70-81 F-Body 78-96 B-Body Viking Front Coil Over Kit Double Ad- Bearing

This kit gets you a pair of Viking front coilover shocks and your choice of front springs, designed to fit a range of vehicles including the 1970-1981 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird, as well as the 1978-1996 Chevrolet Caprice and Buick LeSabre. These aren't just basic shocks; they feature Viking's 19-position double adjustable damping, allowing you to independently tune both compression and rebound. This means you can set up your suspension for everything from daily driving to serious track days, auto-cross, or drag racing, all with the same set of shocks. The hybrid coil springs fit directly onto the upper spring perch and the coilover shock bottom, so you won't need a spring compressor to install them. The adjuster on the shock itself acts as the compressor, making ride height adjustments straightforward.

For easier ride height adjustments, a thrust bearing and spanner wrench kit is recommended, though not strictly required for installation. This thrust bearing sits between the spring and the spring seat, allowing the spring seat to rotate smoothly on the bearing, making height changes much simpler. You'll select your spring rate from options ranging from 250 lb for drag racing only, up to 650 lb for handling applications on small or big block cars, including autocross. The shocks themselves are built, dyno-tested, and serialized in Lakeville, Minnesota, and can be rebuilt by Viking or an authorized center. For the lower shock mount, you can choose between polyurethane for a more comfortable ride or bearing ends for increased reliability and performance in demanding applications like road racing or auto-cross.

This kit is designed to work with UMI's own lower A-arms or your factory lower A-arms. For optimal performance, especially in high-speed cornering or drag racing, consider pairing these coilovers with UMI's geometry-corrected upper A-arms that are loaded with a tall ball joint. This setup offers a significant upgrade over stock suspension components.
