UMI Performance 70-81 GM F-Body Tubular Upper & Lower A-arm Kit

Built from USA-made DOM steel tubing, this UMI Performance tubular upper and lower A-arm kit is designed to significantly improve the handling and steering response of your 1970-1981 GM F-Body vehicle, including popular models like the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. The key to its improved performance lies in the caster relocation of both the upper and lower ball joints. This design adjustment adds 2 degrees of caster forward on the lower ball joint and 3-4 degrees potential caster by moving the upper ball joint rearward, resulting in a total positive caster range of 5-7 degrees. This enhanced caster provides a more connected steering feel and noticeably better stability at higher speeds, without changing the stock fender clearance.

The upper control arms feature CrMo offset cross shafts, which reduce the number of shims needed to achieve the correct camber settings, simplifying alignment. For a crisp steering feel, the upper arms are assembled with UMI-built Delrin bushings, while the lower arms utilize high-quality polyurethane bushings and bump stops for a balanced ride that’s responsive without being harsh. The heavy-duty spring bucket is engineered to accept factory and aftermarket coil springs, as well as popular hybrid coilover units from brands like Viking and QA1. UMI’s double shear sway bar end links are also included, offering a strong connection for your sway bar, compatible with UMI’s own sway bar and most other factory eyelet style bars.

This kit is a direct bolt-in for your classic F-Body, and UMI offers an optional new hardware kit with Grade 8 standard and Grade 10.9 metric options, as they provide both sets of mounting sleeves to accommodate either hardware size.
