UMI Performance 78-87 GM G-Body Rear Lift Bar Set-Up

UMI Performance is known for making well-built suspension components for American muscle cars. If you're looking to get the most out of your GM G-Body's rear suspension, especially for launches, this rear lift bar set-up is designed to help. These bars replace your stock rear control arms, and while they don't change your ride height, they work with axle torque to load the chassis. This action forces the rear wheels downward and pushes the tires into the ground, which can lead to harder launches and improved 60-foot times. They're built to significantly improve traction and reduce that annoying wheel hop you might experience.

Constructed from boxed mild steel tubing with a 0.120-inch wall thickness, these lift bars also feature 0.188-inch thick mounting plates. Everything is CNC machined for exact tolerances, ensuring a superb fit. The bars come with grease-able, high-quality bushings that limit deflection while still keeping the setup street-able. You'll also find provisions for adding a stock or aftermarket sway bar, with holes placed correctly to keep it level with the rear end. These holes are reinforced with a TIG-welded steel sleeve. The rear mounting brackets offer two settings, allowing you to lower the bar 2 or 3 inches depending on your setup. This kit also corrects lost geometry and the instant center on a lowered vehicle. For the ultimate rear suspension setup, consider adding UMI's adjustable upper control arms.

This kit includes all necessary hardware and detailed installation instructions. You can either bolt or weld these bars into place. If bolting, some drilling will be required. The hardware kit includes new metric grade 10.9 control arm bolts with nylon lock nuts.
