UMI Performance 78-88 G-Body 82-03 S10/S15 73-77 A-Body Front Coilover Kit

This is the UMI Performance front coilover kit, featuring Viking adjustable shocks and hybrid springs. It's designed to fit a range of popular vehicles including the 1978-1988 G-Body cars like the Monte Carlo and Regal, the 1982-2003 Chevrolet S10 and GMC Sonoma trucks, and the 1973-1977 A-Body cars like the Chevelle and LeMans. This kit replaces your factory strut and spring setup with a fully integrated coilover system, allowing for significant improvements in handling and adjustability for various driving conditions.

The heart of this kit is the Viking double-adjustable shock, offering 19 positions for both compression and rebound damping. This means you can precisely tune your suspension for everything from daily driving to track days, auto-cross, or drag strip duty. The hybrid coil spring design means the adjuster on the shock acts as the spring compressor, simplifying ride height adjustments from stock down to a 3-inch drop. You can choose from several spring rate options – 250lb for drag racing, 350lb for street or lightened drag cars, 450lb for street or big block drag cars, and 550lb for small block handling or most big blocks. The shocks are built and dyno-tested in Minnesota, ensuring consistent performance. For easier ride height adjustments, a spanner wrench and thrust bearing kit is recommended, as it allows the spring seat to rotate on a bearing, making adjustments much smoother.

UMI Performance offers options for the lower shock mounting points: polyurethane bushings are suitable for mild street use and offer a more comfortable ride, while bearing mounts are recommended for performance applications like auto-cross, drag racing, and road racing for increased reliability and performance. It's important to note that performance bushings, whether poly or bearing, will feel and sound different than stock rubber mounts. This kit is designed to work with UMI's own lower A-arms or your factory lower A-arms, and pairs well with UMI's geometry-corrected upper A-arms for a complete suspension upgrade.
