UMI Performance 78-88 GM G-Body 3/4in Solid Rear Sway Bar Auto-x/Road Race

This is the UMI Performance 3/4-inch solid rear sway bar, specifically built for 1978-1988 GM G-Body vehicles used in autocross and road racing. If you're pushing your G-Body hard on the track, you know how common it is for the inside rear tire to lift during aggressive cornering, especially with stiffer setups. This sway bar is designed to prevent that inside rear wheel lift while still giving you the roll resistance and improved rotation you need to be faster.

UMI engineered this bar to reduce binding issues often found with factory-style sway bars. The differential housing mounts are CNC machined and feature a clamping system that works with axle tubes from 2.75 inches up to 3.25 inches in diameter, so it should fit most common rear ends like Moser, Strange, and Currie. The chassis mounts are double shear and require drilling into the crossmember, but UMI includes a template and instructions to make it straightforward. You can choose from three different stiffness settings by selecting one of the three mounting hole positions on the chassis bracket – the shortest hole offers maximum rotation for tight courses, while the longest is better suited for street use or high-speed tracks. The bar itself is made from strong 4140 CrMo steel and uses heavy-duty race-style spherical rod ends with Teflon for smooth operation.

This kit is designed as a 100% bolt-in installation, though welding the mounts is an option for added security. It comes with greaseable polyurethane bushings and durable powder coating to stand up to the rigors of racing.
