UMI Performance 82-02 GM F-Body Transmission Mounted Non-Adjustable Torque Arm

If you're working on a 1982-2002 Chevrolet Camaro or Pontiac Firebird and want to improve your car's traction and handling, this non-adjustable transmission-mounted torque arm from UMI Performance is a solid option. It's designed to replace your factory unit and directly addresses common issues like wheel hop, which happens when the rear wheels lose and regain traction suddenly, and front-end nose dive during hard braking. By controlling the torque reaction from the drivetrain, this part helps put power down more effectively and keeps the car more stable under braking.

This torque arm is well-built using 1.250" x 0.120" DOM seamless steel tubing, with CNC machined mounting plates and MIG welding throughout for a strong, reliable connection. It also includes a low-deflection front bushing, made by Energy Suspension, which bolts directly into the factory clamshell mount. This updated bushing helps reduce unwanted movement compared to the stock rubber one. The entire assembly is finished with a durable powder coat to resist corrosion. This torque arm is compatible with common rear-end setups like the GM 10-bolt, Moser and Strange 12-bolts, and most 9-inch housings. UMI Performance also recommends a new hardware kit for stock rear-ends or similar designs that use a straight-through bolt, as the factory bolts might be a bit too short for optimal fitment.
