UMI Performance 98-02 GM F-Body Manual / Torque Arm Relocation Kit

When you're pushing your 1998-2002 GM F-Body hard, especially with manual transmissions, the stock torque arm mount on the transmission tail shaft can take a beating. This UMI Performance torque arm relocation kit replaces your factory transmission cross member with a stronger unit that includes a dedicated mount for the torque arm. This setup effectively removes the torque arm from the transmission tail shaft, protecting it from damage during aggressive driving and hard launches.

This kit is built using rectangular mild steel tubing and 0.188-inch thick mild steel mounting plates, with the torque arm mount itself machined from 0.250-inch thick mild steel. It features a new clam shell design for securely attaching the torque arm to the new cross member. Importantly, this is a 100% bolt-in installation that uses existing holes, meaning no drilling, cutting, or welding is required. It's designed to tuck tight against the chassis, so it won't affect your vehicle's ground clearance, and in many cases, it's even lighter than the stock cross member while being structurally more robust.

Please note that this relocation kit requires a solid one-piece polyurethane bushing for installation; it will not work with the factory two-piece bushing. If you are using the stock torque arm, you will need to purchase an aftermarket polyurethane bushing separately. This kit is designed to work with virtually any aftermarket torque arm that bolts into the stock location, as well as the factory torque arm.
