Is the Candy Red a standard or specialty finish?

Candy Red is part of Wehrli's special finish line. All mechanical components, fitment, and performance are identical to the standard color options. The finish process accounts for the price difference from the standard colors.

What factory parts does this kit replace?

It replaces the factory plastic air intake and airbox, the turbo intake horn, the Y-bridge, both hot side and cold side intercooler pipes, and the turbo downpipe. It also replaces the factory rubber boots and clamps with upgraded silicone boots and stainless T-bolt clamps.

Do I need to buy a filter separately?

No. A dry air filter is included in the kit, along with a hydrophobic Outerwears pre-filter cover to protect against contaminants.

Opening up the intake tract on a 2001-2004 LB7 Duramax in the Silverado 2500 HD, Silverado 3500, Sierra 2500 HD, or Sierra 3500 means replacing several factory components that restrict airflow. Wehrli Custom Fab's Stage 3 High Flow Intake Bundle handles all of it in one kit, and this Candy Red powder coat version brings a bold finish to the aluminum components under the hood.

The 4-inch fabricated aluminum intake system with its 10-gauge airbox replaces the plastic factory parts. Cold air draws through the inner fender to help lower intake temperatures, and the included dry filter with hydrophobic Outerwears pre-filter cover protects your MAF sensor, turbo, and engine from contaminants. The 4-inch turbo intake horn opens up the stock restriction point for improved spool and top-end response, and it works with OEM and IHI-style drop-in turbochargers.

The intercooler piping upgrade swaps the factory Y-bridge and both hot and cold side pipes for 3-inch mandrel-bent aluminum feeding a TIG-welded, CNC-machined billet Y-bridge base. The result is a full 3-inch tract between the turbo and engine intake, which can improve throttle response and help manage exhaust gas temperatures. The 3-inch downpipe takes a straight path instead of following the factory routing with its crushed spots, and arrives finished in black ceramic coat with heat wrap for heat management.

Every connection point uses silicone boots rated above factory specs along with stainless steel T-bolt clamps. An FPRV block-off kit is included for Y-bridge clearance, and all hardware and gaskets come in the box. Not recommended for S300 or S400 turbochargers. Not CARB-approved.
