What is the difference between Stage 2 and Stage 3?

Stage 2 includes the air intake, intercooler piping, Y-bridge, and intake horn -- covering the intake side of the turbo system. Stage 3 adds a 3" high flow down pipe with black ceramic coat and heat wrap to address the exhaust side as well.

Does this kit include a down pipe?

No, the Stage 2 bundle does not include a down pipe. If you want the complete intake-to-exhaust package, look at the Wehrli Stage 3 bundle which adds the down pipe to everything included in Stage 2.

What gauge aluminum is used in the piping?

The piping throughout this kit is built from 14-gauge aluminum. The air box uses heavier construction for structural rigidity. All components are finished in Bronze Chrome powder coat.

Is the MAP sensor bracket included?

Yes, the kit includes a MAP sensor seal and hold-down bracket so the MAP sensor is properly secured when the factory components are removed.

Wehrli Custom Fab's Stage 2 High Flow Intake Bundle Kit tackles the intake side of the 2001-2004 Silverado 2500 HD, Silverado 3500, Sierra 2500 HD, and Sierra 3500 LB7 Duramax. Unlike the Stage 3 which includes a down pipe, this Stage 2 focuses on the air intake, intercooler piping, and Y-bridge -- the three areas where the factory intake tract creates the most restriction. Finished in Bronze Chrome powder coat, a specialty finish with a warm metallic tone.

Starting at the filter, a 4" high flow air intake with a dry filter, hydrophobic Outerwears pre-filter cover, and enclosed air box with a removable lid replaces the factory plastic intake. The 14-gauge aluminum construction pulls cold air through the inner fender, keeping intake temps lower than the stock setup. A 4" high flow turbo intake horn (turbo mouthpiece) opens up the restrictive factory opening and works with OEM and IHI-style upgraded drop-in turbochargers.

The intercooler piping gets a full 3" upgrade: a fabricated Y-bridge with a passenger-side (cold) intercooler pipe and a separate 3" hot-side intercooler pipe replace the factory components. Wehrli's TIG-welded, CNC-machined billet Y-bridge base creates a full 3" tract between turbo and engine, which helps the turbo spool faster, improves throttle response, and can lower exhaust gas temperatures. Silicone boots and stainless steel T-bolt clamps replace the factory rubber, and a MAP sensor seal with hold-down bracket is included.

An FPRV block-off kit provides clearance for the larger Y-bridge, and O-ring bridge flange gaskets ensure a solid seal. All hardware is included. Not CARB approved.
