Is the only difference between color options the powder coat finish?

Yes. All Wehrli Stage 2 High Flow Intake Bundle Kits for the LB7 Duramax include the same components and specifications. The color options refer only to the powder coat finish on the aluminum piping.

Does this kit replace the factory plastic intake piping?

Yes. The kit replaces the factory plastic air intake, the OEM Y-bridge (which is prone to blowing apart under boost), and both intercooler pipes with fabricated aluminum components. It creates a full 3-inch intake tract between the turbo and engine.

What about the factory grid heater and EGR connections?

The Y-bridge in this kit incorporates the factory grid heater and EGR connection controls. You retain those factory systems while gaining the flow improvements of the larger piping.

Wehrli Custom Fab's Stage 2 High Flow Intake Bundle Kit in Gloss White (WCF100435-GW) replaces the entire intake tract on the 2001-2004 LB7 Duramax, from the air filter to the engine intake runners. The factory LB7 intake system uses restrictive plastic piping and a weak slip-fit Y-bridge that is known to blow apart under boost. This kit addresses all of those weak points in a single package.

Everything from the Cat Yellow version carries over here: a 4-inch high flow air intake with dry filter and Outerwears pre-filter cover, a 3-inch TIG welded Y-bridge with CNC machined billet base, 3-inch intercooler pipes for both the driver and passenger sides, and a 4-inch high flow turbo intake horn compatible with stock and IHI-style turbochargers. The kit also includes the FPRV block-off kit, MAP sensor seal with hold-down bracket, silicone boots, stainless steel T-bolt clamps, and O-ring bridge flange gaskets. All piping is 14 gauge aluminum with mandrel bends.

The only difference from other color options is the Gloss White powder coat finish. This kit is not CARB approved, so verify local emissions requirements before installing on a street-driven vehicle.
