It replaces the stock upper radiator hose and coolant return pipe, rerouting coolant flow upwards and forward from the thermostat. This updated routing makes it much easier to get to the driver's side fuel system components and creates extra space if you're planning to install larger aftermarket turbochargers, especially race cover or SXE style turbos.
