Why does the Bronze Chrome finish cost more than the solid color options?

Bronze Chrome uses a multi-stage powder coat process that creates a metallic chrome-like effect over a bronze base. The additional coating steps and materials add to the production cost compared to single-stage solid colors like Bengal Blue or WCFab Grey.

Is a tune required after installation?

No. The Stage 2 kit works with the factory ECM calibration on a stock truck. No tuning is needed, though owners can add a tune separately for further gains.

Does this kit address the common Y-bridge failure on the LBZ?

Yes. The Wehrli 3 in. bolt-together Y-bridge directly replaces the factory slip-fit two-piece unit that is known for blowing apart under boost. The CNC machined billet flanges and bolt-together design create a much more secure connection.

Will this work with an aftermarket intercooler?

Wehrli notes that CSF aftermarket intercoolers require modification or grinding of the intercooler outlet lip. Factory intercoolers work without any modification.

Wehrli Stage 2 High Flow Bundle Kit for 2006-2007 Duramax LBZ - Bronze Chrome

Bronze Chrome is the show-piece finish in Wehrli's Stage 2 lineup. The metallic chrome effect over a bronze base creates a finish that catches light differently from every angle, and it sits on the same complete Stage 2 airflow package that tackles the LBZ Duramax's biggest intake-side restrictions.

Intake: A 4 in. aluminum pipe feeds cold air from the inner fender into an enclosed air box with dry filter and Outerwears hydrophobic pre-filter. The 4.8 in. turbo intake horn flows 20% more air than stock. All piping is 14-gauge aluminum with mandrel bends that improve air velocity and volume while giving the turbo a fuller sound under acceleration.

Intercooler piping: The 3 in. driver-side (hot) pipe and 3.5 in. passenger-side (cold) pipe replace the factory 2.5 in. hot-side and the leak-prone plastic/rubber cold-side. The cold-side pipe flows 47% better than stock. CNC machined flanges with double O-ring seals and upgraded silicone boots handle boost pressures that would blow the factory connections apart.

Y-bridge: The 3 in. bolt-together two-piece Y-bridge replaces the slip-fit factory unit that commonly fails under boost on hard-working trucks. CNC billet flanges, 36% better flow than stock, and a full 3 in. tract to the engine with factory grid heater and EGR connections retained.
