Stage 3 includes everything in the Stage 2 bundle (intake pipe, air box, intake horn, intercooler pipes, and Y-bridge) plus a 3 in. stainless steel turbo down pipe with heat wrap. The down pipe improves exhaust flow after the turbocharger for better spool-up and reduced back pressure.

Does this kit require a tune or any modifications?

No tuning is required. The Stage 3 bundle bolts directly onto a stock 06-07 LBZ Duramax truck. All factory connection points and sensors are retained. No additional modifications are needed.

Wehrli's Stage 3 High Flow Bundle Kit in Gloss Black takes the already-comprehensive Stage 2 package and adds a 3 in. stainless steel turbo down pipe, giving your 2006-2007 LBZ Duramax improved airflow on both the intake and exhaust side of the turbocharger. From the air filter to the down pipe, every restriction in the factory system gets addressed.

On the intake side, a 4 in. aluminum pipe with enclosed air box and dry filter assembly draws cold air through the inner fender for cooler intake temperatures. The 4.8 in. turbo intake horn offers a 20% airflow improvement over stock, and an Outerwears hydrophobic pre-filter cover keeps contaminants away from the MAF sensor and turbo.

Full Intercooler Piping and Y-Bridge Replacement

The factory 2.5 in. hot-side intercooler pipe and plastic cold-side pipe are replaced with a 3 in. driver-side and 3.5 in. passenger-side pipe, both fabricated from 14 ga. aluminum with mandrel bends. The cold-side pipe flows 47% better than stock. CNC machined billet flanges with double O-ring seals and an upgraded silicone hump boot eliminate the boost leaks that plague the factory plumbing.

Wehrli's signature 3 in. two-piece Y-bridge replaces the factory slip-fit design with a bolt-together bridge that flows 36% better than stock. The complete 3 in. tract from intercooler connection to engine retains the factory grid heater and EGR connections for emissions compliance.

Stainless Steel Down Pipe Completes the System

What separates Stage 3 from Stage 2 is the included 3 in. stainless steel turbo down pipe with heat wrap. By increasing the flow area after the turbocharger and removing unnecessary restrictions in the factory exhaust path, the down pipe helps the turbo spool faster and reduces exhaust back pressure.
