What is the difference between the LBZ and LMM versions of this kit?

Inside this Wehrli Stage 1 bundle you get three main components for your 2007.5-2010 LMM Duramax: a 3-inch two-piece Y-bridge, a 3-inch driver side intercooler pipe, and a 3.5-inch passenger side intercooler pipe, all finished in Candy Teal powder coat. Silicone boots, stainless T-bolt clamps, seals, gaskets, and mounting hardware round out the kit.

The LMM platform shares the same weak factory Y-bridge design as other classic body Duramax trucks. It is a slip-fit piece with minimal support that can blow apart under higher boost, causing drivability problems and power loss. Wehrli's bolt-together replacement uses mandrel-bent 3-inch tubing with CNC machined billet flanges and provides a secure sealing surface at the air inlet horn connection. The full tract from intercooler to engine runs at 3 inches and incorporates the factory throttle valve, grid heater, and EGR controls.

The driver side pipe replaces the restrictive 2.5-inch OEM tube and eliminates the reverse bead-roll turbo connection. The passenger side pipe is fabricated from 14-gauge aluminum at 3.5 inches with CNC flanges, double O-ring seals, and upgraded silicone boots. Wehrli reports 36% better flow on the Y-bridge and 47% on the cold side pipe. No tuning needed. Made in the USA.
