Why is Illusion Purple priced higher than some other color options?

Built for the 2007.5-2010 LMM Duramax, this Wehrli Stage 1 intake bundle in Illusion Purple replaces the factory Y-bridge and both intercooler pipes with larger, better-sealed components. The 3-inch Y-bridge, 3-inch driver side pipe, and 3.5-inch passenger side pipe come powder coated as a matched set, with all silicone boots, stainless T-bolt clamps, seals, gaskets, and hardware included.

The factory Y-bridge on LMM trucks is a two-piece slip-fit design that can blow apart under boost, leading to poor drivability and power loss. Wehrli's bolt-together replacement uses CNC machined billet flanges and mandrel-bent tubing throughout. On the driver side, the pipe diameter increases from 2.5 to 3 inches and the weak reverse bead-roll turbo connection is eliminated. The passenger side pipe is a 3.5-inch unit fabricated from 14-gauge aluminum with CNC flanges, double O-ring seals, and wire clip rings at both slip connections.

Per Wehrli, the Y-bridge flows 36% better than stock and the cold side pipe flows 47% better. Factory throttle valve, grid heater, and EGR controls remain functional. No tuning needed. Made in the USA.
