What is the difference between the Stage 2 and Stage 3 bundle?

The Stage 3 bundle includes everything in the Stage 2 kit (intake pipe, air box, intake horn, intercooler pipes, and Y-bridge) plus a 3 in. stainless steel turbo downpipe with heat wrap. The downpipe improves exhaust flow after the turbocharger.

How much airflow improvement does this kit actually achieve?

Wehrli specifies a 20% improvement at the intake horn, 36% improvement through the Y-bridge, and a 47% improvement on the cold side intercooler pipe versus the factory components. The downpipe further reduces exhaust restriction after the turbo.

What You Get in the Box

On the intake side, a 4 in. aluminum intake pipe with enclosed air box and dry filter assembly (plus a hydrophobic Outerwears pre-filter cover) replaces the restrictive plastic factory pieces. The 4.8 in. turbo intake horn -- the largest available for this platform -- flows 20% better than stock and gives your turbo a noticeably more aggressive sound under acceleration. All piping is 14 ga. aluminum with smooth mandrel bends.

Moving downstream, the Stage 3 kit swaps out the factory 2.5 in. driver (hot) side intercooler pipe and the leak-prone plastic/rubber passenger (cold) side pipe. Wehrli replaces them with a solid 3 in. one-piece hot side pipe and a 3.5 in. cold side pipe, both built from heavy-duty 14 ga. aluminum. The cold side pipe alone flows 47% better than the factory part. CNC machined flanges with double O-ring seals handle higher boost pressures and put an end to blown factory boots.

Y-Bridge and Downpipe

At the heart of the kit sits Wehrli's signature 3 in. two-piece Y-bridge, which replaces the weak slip-fit OEM bridge that tends to blow apart under boost. This bolt-together design flows 36% better than stock and incorporates CNC machined billet flanges with smooth mandrel bends for a full 3 in. tract from intercooler to engine. It retains factory grid heater and EGR connections for emissions compliance.

Finishing it off, the 3 in. stainless steel turbo downpipe with heat wrap opens up exhaust flow right after the turbocharger, removing unnecessary restrictions. Together, this kit addresses throttle response, turbo spool, and boost reliability across the entire air and exhaust path. No tuning required -- bolts right onto stock trucks. Finished in Wehrli's Gloss White powder coat.
