When you're pushing more power through your Duramax diesel or hauling serious weight, the rear axle can start to twist. This twisting can lead to a cascade of problems, like broken U-joints, pinion yokes, driveshafts, or even a twisted axle housing. That's where a solid set of traction bars comes in. This kit from Wehrli Custom Fabrication is built to handle those stresses and keep your truck's drivetrain healthy.

Wehrli builds these bars in-house, and they're backed by a lifetime warranty against bending or breaking for the original purchaser. The bars themselves are 60 inches long and connect to the axle via heavy-duty polyurethane bushings, which help cut down on noise and vibration compared to using solid heim joints at both ends. Up at the frame, you get a rebuildable and greaseable RockJock Johnny Joint, allowing for adjustments if you change your rear suspension height. The brackets bolt onto the axle tubes using your existing U-bolts, and the frame mounts are designed to weld on for maximum strength, though some Crew Cab Short Bed models offer a 100% bolt-on installation. All connections use Grade 8 hardware for a strong, reliable setup. To top it off, the kit features a durable custom powder coat finish with an epoxy primer base coat, which Wehrli says increases corrosion resistance significantly.

This kit is designed for 2020-2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, 3500 HD, and GMC Sierra 2500 HD, 3500 HD trucks. Keep in mind that while Crew Cab Short Bed models can be a 100% bolt-on installation, other cab and bed configurations will require welding for the frame mounts. For competition applications, welding the front mounts is recommended for the absolute strongest setup.
