If you're looking to add more power to your 2011-2024 Ford F-250 or F-350 Super Duty, especially with a diesel engine, Wehrli's traction bar kit is a smart addition. When you significantly increase horsepower, the torque can twist the rear axle housing. This twisting can lead to serious issues like broken driveshafts, U-joints, or even damage to the axle itself. These traction bars are designed to bolt to your axle and weld to your frame, effectively controlling that axle twist and protecting your drivetrain.

Wehrli builds these bars in-house and backs them with a lifetime warranty against bending or breaking. They use a combination of high-quality components for a solid, yet functional setup. At the frame end, you'll find rebuildable and greaseable RockJock "Johnny Joint" heims. These allow for adjustment if you change your truck's ride height or need to fine-tune the axle's torsion. On the axle side, they use durable polyurethane bushings. This choice helps reduce the noise and vibration that can sometimes come with kits that use heims on both ends, making for a more comfortable ride. The bars themselves are 68 inches long, suitable for Regular Cab Long Bed, Super Cab Long Bed, Super Cab Short Bed, and Crew Cab Long Bed models. They are connected using strong Grade 8 hardware. To ensure long-lasting protection against corrosion, each kit is finished with an epoxy primer base coat before the fine texture black powder coating is applied, which Wehrli states increases corrosion resistance significantly compared to a standard single coat.

This kit is specifically designed for 2011-2016 Crew Cab Short Beds and 2017-2024 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks with Sterling 10.5" or Dana M275 axles that have a 4-inch diameter axle tube. Please note that this kit is not compatible with FX4 gas tank skid plates on 2011-2016 Super Cab Short Bed models. For 2017 or newer F-350 or F-450 Dually trucks with a Dana M300 rear axle, a different part number is required. If your truck has a lift kit and your U-bolts face upwards, or if you have a significant lift, it's recommended to measure from your axle mounting point to your frame mounting point to ensure the 68-inch bar length will work for your specific application before ordering. The frame-side mounts require welding, while the axle-side mounts bolt on using the existing U-bolts.
