At 15x13 with 5-inch backspacing on a 5x4.75 GM bolt pattern, this Weld Alpha-1 is configured for the widest tire and deepest wheel tuck available in the Alpha-1 lineup for GM cars. Five inches of backspacing on a 13-inch-wide barrel positions a significant portion of the wheel inboard of the mounting surface.

This configuration suits GM muscle cars and racing platforms where the rear axle width relative to the body allows for deep backspacing. Cars with mini-tubbed rear wheel wells or purpose-built drag chassis often benefit from this combination because the deep offset keeps the wide tire centered under the car rather than sticking out past the fender lip.
