Wilwood Residual Pressure Valve - New Style 10# / Red

When you're working on a drum brake system, especially one that's been rebuilt or modified, you might notice a bit too much pedal travel before the brakes really grab. That's often because the springs in the drum shoes want to pull the pistons back, and gravity can let fluid drain back towards the master cylinder. This Wilwood 10-pound residual pressure valve is designed to keep a small amount of pressure in the lines, preventing that excessive piston retraction and ensuring a more consistent pedal feel.

This valve is made from billet aluminum, so it's well-built and lightweight. The red color makes it easy to spot and identify as the 10-pound version, which is specifically recommended for drum brake applications. It helps compensate for the return spring tension and keeps the wheel cylinders sealed properly, which is crucial for reliable stopping power. Wilwood includes two fittings with this valve: 1/8-27 NPT to 3/8-24 inverted flare female fittings, which are common for domestic 3/16-inch hard brake lines.
