This is a Wilwood 10 pound residual pressure valve, finished in red for easy identification. It's designed to keep a minimum amount of pressure in your brake lines, which is especially helpful in drum brake systems. This helps compensate for the tension from the drum brake return springs and ensures the wheel cylinder seals stay properly engaged, preventing issues like excessive pedal travel.

Wilwood makes these valves from billet aluminum, and this particular model comes with fittings. Specifically, it includes two 1/8-27 NPT to 3/8-24 inverted flare female fittings, which are common for connecting to 3/16th hard brake lines found on many domestic vehicles. By maintaining that small residual pressure, you get a more consistent brake pedal feel and help ensure your drum brakes work as intended.
