Wiseco crafts these pistons from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its improved tensile strength, which is crucial for withstanding the high pressures and temperatures found in performance engines. The machining process is precise, featuring anti-detonation grooves and additional ring seal features to ensure optimal combustion and durability. The piston crowns are fully machined, and the skirts are treated with an ArmorGlide coating. This coating helps reduce friction for quieter operation and improved piston-to-wall contact, while also offering resistance to seizure under extreme conditions. The forced pin oiling feature ensures the wrist pin receives adequate lubrication, a critical detail for longevity in high-stress builds.
