You'll find horizontal slot oiling in the pin bores, which is a smart detail that keeps the wrist pin and connecting rod small end well-lubricated. Plus, the ArmorGlide skirt coating is there to cut down on friction and noise, while also reducing wear on the piston skirt and cylinder wall.
