These pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum, a material known for its tensile strength, making them well-suited for the demands of racing and applications that use power adders like turbochargers or superchargers. The Race Engineered Design (RED) process means these pistons are specifically optimized for popular domestic V8 platforms used in drag racing and circle track racing.

Wiseco has included several features to ensure durability and performance. The horizontal slot oiling in the pin bores keeps the wrist pin and connecting rod small end well-lubricated, which is crucial for longevity. Dedicated forgings allow for an engine-specific, strutted design that balances strength with weight, so you get a strong piston without unnecessary mass. The ArmorGlide skirt coating is applied to reduce friction and noise, and it also helps cut down on wear to both the piston skirt and the cylinder wall.
