Wiseco makes these pistons from 2618 aluminum, a material known for its tensile strength, which is crucial for handling the stresses of high-performance engines, especially those with power adders. To help with lubrication and longevity, the pin bores have horizontal slots that keep the wrist pin and small-end of the connecting rod well-oiled. The pistons themselves use dedicated forgings with a strutted design, balancing strength with a lower weight.
