These Wiseco RED Series pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, making them well-suited for the demands of performance racing and engines with power adders. The RED series, which stands for Race Engineered Design, aims to provide the durability needed for competitive environments while incorporating precision features that offer a performance edge. They are specifically designed for popular domestic V8 platforms, which are common in racing from drag strips to circle tracks.

A notable feature is the horizontal slot oiling in the pin bores. This design helps ensure optimal lubrication for the wrist pin and the connecting rod's small end, which is crucial for maintaining consistent performance and extending service life under high stress. The pistons also feature dedicated forgings, allowing for an optimized, engine-specific strutted design that balances strength with minimal weight. To further reduce friction and noise, and to minimize wear on the piston skirt and cylinder wall, these pistons come with an ArmorGlide skirt coating.
