These pistons are forged and machined right here in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for racing engines and those running power adders. Wiseco uses dedicated forgings for each specific engine, allowing them to optimize the strutted design for the best possible strength-to-weight ratio. You'll also find horizontal slot oiling in the pin bores, which keeps the wrist pin and small-end of the connecting rod well-lubricated, helping to ensure a long service life even under high RPMs. Plus, the ArmorGlide skirt coating is applied to reduce friction and noise, while also minimizing wear on the piston skirt and cylinder wall. An accumulator groove is included to help maintain consistent ring seal and keep power delivery steady.
