These pistons are forged and machined in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its tensile strength, which is crucial for racing applications and when using power adders like turbochargers or superchargers. Each set includes dedicated forgings that allow for an optimized, engine-specific strutted design, maximizing strength while keeping weight down. To further improve performance and longevity, they feature horizontal slot oiling in the pin bores to ensure the wrist pin and small-end of the connecting rod stay well-lubricated. The ArmorGlide skirt coating is applied to reduce friction and noise, while also minimizing wear on the piston skirt and cylinder wall. An accumulator groove is also included to help maintain consistent ring seal and power delivery.
