Sea Foam Engine Treatment (16 oz.)

Sea Foam Motor Treatment (SF-16) is a petroleum-based engine cleaner and lubricant made from three ingredients — pale oil, naphtha, and isopropyl alcohol — with no harsh detergents or water added. Sold commercially since 1942, it works across three distinct applications: added to the fuel tank at 1 oz per gallon for routine maintenance or 2+ oz per gallon for deep cleaning of carburetor jets and fuel injectors; added to the crankcase at 1 oz per quart of oil (100–300 drive miles before an oil change) to dissolve varnish and gum from oil passages before draining the old oil; or sprayed directly into the intake throttle body at 2,000 RPM for a top-end clean of intake valves — particularly useful on GDI engines where fuel detergents never reach behind the valves.

The product is safe for all gasoline and diesel engines, including 2-stroke and 4-stroke applications, and stabilizes stored fuel against evaporation and varnish formation for up to 2 years at the standard 1 oz-per-gallon rate. During intake cleaning, expect white smoke from the exhaust as vaporized petroleum oil and loosened deposits pass through the combustion chamber — this is normal behavior and clears within a few minutes of driving under load. One 16 oz can treats up to 16 quarts of crankcase oil or 16 gallons of fuel at the maintenance dose.
