3M Quick Headlight Clear Coat

Cloudy, yellowed headlights are more than a cosmetic problem — they reduce how far your headlights actually throw light down the road. 3M's Quick Headlight Clear Coat kit is a compact, affordable way to bring those lenses back to clear without a full restoration kit or a trip to the body shop.

Inside the package, you get a 3M P3000 abrasive disc for sanding away the oxidized outer layer of the plastic lens, plus clear coat wipes that lay down a UV-protective coating once the lens is smooth. The UV layer is what keeps the lens from hazing up again — without it, a restored headlight can re-yellow in a matter of months. Users have reported lenses staying clear for three to four years after treatment.

This kit works well on lenses with light to moderate hazing and yellowing. For severely deteriorated lenses with deep pitting or cracks, a more aggressive sanding kit may be a better starting point. The process takes about 15 to 20 minutes per headlight.
