It's designed to give you two distinct sound profiles: quiet and civil when you're just cruising, but a real war-cry when you put your foot down. This system is built to handle serious driving.
We spent a lot of time figuring out the right pipe size for this car. While a 3-inch system might seem like more performance, our testing showed it actually hurt low-end torque on the MK5 GTI. That's why AWE went with a 2.5-inch diameter system. It uses thick .065" wall T304L stainless steel tubing and double-walled exhaust tips to keep them looking good. The tips are 3.15" and have stamped AWE logos.
