It replaces the stock airbox and filter with a well-built system designed to move more air into your engine. This can help reduce exhaust gas temperatures and decrease that sooty black smoke you sometimes see under load.
The Ram-Air system uses an enclosed airbox to keep hot engine bay air out, pulling in cooler outside air instead. The large, dry cotton gauze filter has a 7-1/8 inch outlet and flows up to 57% better than stock. Banks also includes a unique 5-inch bellows that lets the engine move without stressing the intake components, which helps prevent damage and prolongs its service life.
