Already running a Duramax L5P? This Banks Power Ram-Air intake system is the next piece to improve your truck's breathing. It replaces the stock airbox with an enclosed housing and a larger dry filter, keeping hot engine air out and letting more cool air in. This helps the engine run cooler and can reduce soot buildup, meaning fewer forced regenerations.
This system uses a dry air filter element, which is the largest in its class. It outflows the stock intake by 70 percent. Banks Power claims this setup can add up to 20 horsepower on its own. For even more power, it's designed to work with their Derringer inline tuner for a total gain of 81 horsepower.
