When you're pushing serious power through your 2011-2018 Ram 2500 or 3500, the stock 68RFE transmission can become a weak link. This BD Diesel Stage 5 transmission and converter package is built to handle the demands of your diesel, whether you're towing heavy loads or looking for improved performance on the street or track. It's a complete, matched system designed to work together for maximum reliability and power transfer.

BD Diesel starts with a hard-anodized valve body and a new solenoid pack, then adds a custom separator plate to increase line pressure and prevent internal leaks. The low reverse one-way clutch uses a heavy-duty cam and roller design, and the 2C piston gets a steel girdle to accommodate more clutches and a broader apply area. They've also increased the clutch counts in both the overdrive and 2C clutches by 33% each, using their durable QT100 pressure plates that reduce deflection. A custom Big Stack overdrive shaft and reinforced accumulator plate further bolster the transmission's strength. To address common wear points, the TCC limit valve is machined and sleeved. The included deep sump oil pan adds extra fluid capacity and cooling while reducing case flex.

The ProTech68 pressure control module is a key component, ramping line pressure up to 250 psi based on MAP sensor input to match the required load. This package also features a billet input shaft, which is crucial for handling the 'snap' from rapid throttle changes and high horsepower applications. The torque converter is enhanced for improved stall, featuring a stamped, one-piece cover that resists warping from clutch heat. Its self-centering trapezoid teeth design increases contact and reduces wear, while the furnace-brazed fins minimize internal leakage for better fluid coupling efficiency. This matched set is dyno-tested together to ensure performance and reliability right out of the box.
