The 68RFE transmission is a known quantity, but BD Diesel has gone through and beefed it up significantly to handle the extra power and torque from modified engines. This isn't just a rebuild; it's a complete overhaul designed for robust reliability under heavy loads.

BD Diesel has increased the strength of this transmission by incorporating a modified valve body, a billet input shaft, and an HD Billet OD Drum. These upgrades significantly boost the torque capacity of the clutch packs, especially the OD clutch, which sees nearly 50% more apply area thanks to the oversized drum and the BD Big Stack OD clutch pack. You'll also find BD QT100 billet steel pressure plates to increase clutch count and reduce deflection, along with a heavy-duty cam and roller low-reverse sprag for greater load capacity. The transmission also includes a BD Diesel deep aluminum pan, adding 4.5 quarts of fluid capacity to help keep temperatures down during demanding use like towing.

This package also comes with a billet multi-disc ProForce 3D enhanced stall torque converter, specifically designed for street and towing applications.
