If you're pushing your 2000-2002 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 47RE transmission beyond its original limits, whether for heavy towing or just a more robust daily driver, this BD Diesel transmission and torque converter package is built to handle the extra demands. This isn't just a rebuild; it's a significant upgrade designed to increase durability and performance for your diesel truck.

BD Diesel has reinforced key areas of the 47RE transmission. They've replaced stock thrust bushings with roller Torrington bearings and upgraded the governor solenoid and pressure transducer to handle twice the burst pressure of stock, while increasing line pressure to 190-200psi. This helps eliminate shuttle shifting issues. The clutch packs have been increased in count for direct, forward, OD, and OD direct applications, and feature high-temperature Raybestos bands along with billet band levers and struts. A standout feature is the billet fine spline input shaft, specifically designed to absorb the shock from rapid throttle changes and high horsepower, preventing breakage. The intermediate shaft is also drilled for better lubrication, and the transmission comes with BD's rigid aluminum heavy-duty pan, which adds 2 quarts of extra fluid capacity and features heat-dissipating fins to keep temperatures down. A magnetic drain plug is also included for added protection.

The included torque converter is a matched component, featuring a stamp-forged steel front cover and furnace-brazed fins for improved fluid coupling efficiency and reduced heat. Its torque-multiplying cast aluminum stator offers lower RPM response than stock, leading to more efficient operation and better fuel economy. The lockup clutch material is tripled compared to stock for increased durability. This package also includes an auxiliary full-flow filter kit for extra protection and a cooler line case saver. Every transmission is dyno-tested to ensure it performs as expected right out of the box.
