BD Diesel Dodge 48RE Transmission & Converter Stage 4 Package - 2003-2004 2WD

When you're looking to handle more power and torque from your 2003-2004 Dodge Ram 2500, this BD Diesel Stage 4 Transmission and Converter Package is a solid choice. This package includes a completely rebuilt 48RE transmission and a matched torque converter, designed to work together for improved reliability and performance under demanding conditions. It's built to handle the stresses of towing, street driving, and higher horsepower applications, offering a significant upgrade over the stock setup.

Inside the transmission, you'll find several key upgrades. The stock thrust bushings have been replaced with roller Torrington bearings, and the intermediate shaft is drilled for better lubrication. You also get an upgraded governor pressure transducer that offers twice the burst pressure of stock, along with an upgraded governor solenoid and valve body. The manual valve is modified for proper lubrication in all gear positions, and the line pressure is increased to 190-200 psi to ensure firm shifts. For added durability, it comes with a high-temperature Raybestos band, a billet band lever, and a billet band strut. The billet input shaft is designed to handle the 'snap' from rapid throttle changes and high horsepower. The package also includes BD's rigid aluminum heavy-duty transmission pan, which adds 2 quarts of extra oil capacity and features heat-dissipating fins to help keep temperatures down. A magnetic drain plug is included to catch any metal particles, and a cooler line case saver is installed to protect against leaks. For extra protection, an auxiliary full-flow filter kit is also part of the package.

The included torque converter is engineered for street and towing applications, featuring a torque-multiplying cast aluminum stator for improved response. It operates more efficiently, leading to less heat and potentially better fuel economy compared to stock. The converter has a stamp-forged steel front cover and furnace-brazed fins for durability. It also boasts up to triple the amount of lock-up clutch material for a stronger engagement. This matched set is dyno-tested together to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
