BD Diesel Transmission - 2003-2004 Ford 5R110 2wd

If you're pushing your 2003 or 2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 5R110 transmission beyond what the factory intended, this BD Diesel Stage 4 transmission is built to handle the extra power. The stock transmission is designed for stock engine output, but this upgraded unit significantly increases durability and torque handling capabilities, making it a solid choice for modified trucks or heavy towing applications.

This transmission features a fully rollerized geartrain and tighter clutch packs with 30%-40% more clutch material and additional steels, including a count of 6 clutches in the direct and low reverse positions. Several key components are machined for improved performance and durability, such as the direct piston, overdrive piston, and pressure plates. Internal lubrication is improved with high-power boost valves and added lube circuits, while revised oil circuits and a heavy-duty regulator valve prevent cross-leaks. The front pump is reworked, and upgraded bearings, planetaries, and sprags are used throughout. For added protection, it includes a heavy-duty snap ring and blow-off valve to prevent runaway pressure from damaging the case, and plastic pressure plugs in the valve body are replaced with aluminum ones. The solenoids are hard-wired for high-temperature resistance.

Included with this transmission is BD Diesel's rigid aluminum heavy-duty transmission pan. This pan adds 6 quarts of extra oil capacity, which helps reduce operating temperatures thanks to its heat-dissipating fins. It also helps reduce case flex and internal oil leakage, further protecting the transmission's internals. A magnetic drain plug is also included to help catch any stray metal particles. This transmission is dyno tested to ensure it meets BD Diesel's standards before it leaves the factory. It's backed by a 36-month or 150,000-mile limited warranty.
