BD Diesel Transmission Kit - 1996-1998 Dodge 12-valve 47RE 4wd

If you're pushing your 1994-1998 Dodge 12-valve Cummins past its original limits, especially with a 47RE transmission, you know how quickly the stock unit can start to struggle. This BD Diesel Stage 4 transmission is built to handle significantly more power and torque, giving you the confidence to tow heavy loads or put your truck to work without worrying about transmission failure. BD Diesel has gone through this transmission with a fine-tooth comb, replacing stock components with stronger, more robust parts. They've upgraded the clutch count with more material, including a high-temp Raybestos band, billet band strut, and anchor, plus a billet dual ring accumulator piston. The intermediate shaft is drilled for better lubrication, and the manual valve is modified to ensure lube in all gear positions. Stock thrust washers are swapped out for roller Torrington bearings, which reduce friction and help save your governor solenoids. This unit also incorporates more rugged 48RE components, and the valve body has been redesigned with updated solenoids and a governor pressure transducer that can handle twice the burst pressure of stock. The result is a transmission that can handle up to 300% more power and torque than the original, with increased line pressure starting at lower RPMs and lighter throttle input, all while maintaining a comfortable light throttle shift feel and eliminating shuttle shifting.

This kit also includes BD's heavy-duty rigid aluminum transmission pan, which adds an extra quart of oil capacity and helps reduce case flex and internal oil leakage. The pan's heat-dissipating fins keep temperatures down, and it comes with a magnetic drain plug to catch any metal particles. For even more protection, an auxiliary full-flow filter kit is bundled in to provide extra filtration. Every transmission is dyno-tested before it leaves BD Diesel to ensure it meets their standards, and it comes with a 36-month or 150,000-mile limited warranty.
