If you're looking to significantly increase the power and durability of your 2000-2002 Dodge Ram 2500's drivetrain, this BD Diesel transmission is built for the job. BD Diesel has rebuilt this 47RE transmission with a focus on increased strength and improved lubrication. They've replaced stock thrust washers with roller Torrington bearings to reduce friction and save your governor solenoids. The intermediate shaft is drilled for better lube, and a modified manual valve ensures lubrication in all gear positions. This unit also incorporates more rugged components from the 48RE, along with extra clutches that have up to 25% more material than stock. You'll find a higher clutch count in several areas, including 10 in the OD DIRECT and 6 in the DIRECT clutch pack. The pressure increase starts at lower RPMs and lighter throttle inputs, maintaining light throttle shift firmness without shuttle shifting issues. It's also equipped with an upgraded governor pressure transducer and a solenoid with twice the stock burst pressure.

This transmission also comes with a BD rigid aluminum heavy-duty pan. This pan not only adds an extra quart of oil capacity but also reduces case flex and features heat-dissipating fins to keep temperatures down. A magnetic drain plug is included to catch any metal particles. For added protection, this kit includes BD's auxiliary full-flow filter kit, which offers extra filtration for your transmission fluid.
