BD Diesel Transmission Kit - 2003-2004 Dodge 48RE 4wd w/ Auxiliary Filter

Starting with the billet input shaft, this BD Diesel transmission package is built to handle the demands of your 2003-2004 Dodge Ram 2500. The input shaft is designed to absorb the 'snap' from rapid throttle changes and high horsepower, a common stress point for these trucks. This kit replaces the stock thrust bushings with roller Torrington bearings, which are much more durable and handle rotational loads better. You'll also find a modified manual valve that ensures proper lubrication in all gear positions, preventing premature wear.

BD has also upgraded the valve body with an improved governor solenoid and pressure transducer, capable of twice the burst pressure of stock units. This contributes to increased line pressure, pushing it to 190-200 psi, which helps eliminate shuttle shifting issues and ensures solid gear engagement. The transmission includes a high-temperature, high-energy Raybestos band and billet band lever and strut for added strength. For extra protection, a BD auxiliary full-flow filter kit is included, along with a cooler line case saver to prevent leaks.

The included BD rigid aluminum heavy-duty transmission pan adds 2 quarts of extra oil capacity, and its heat-dissipating fins help keep temperatures down during demanding use. A magnetic drain plug is also integrated to catch any stray metal particles. The torque converter is enhanced for street and towing applications, featuring torque-multiplying cast aluminum stators for better low-rpm response and more efficient operation, leading to less heat and potentially better fuel economy. It also boasts up to triple the amount of lock-up clutch material for increased durability.

This complete package is dyno-tested to ensure the transmission and torque converter work together seamlessly for optimal performance and reliability.
