This BD Diesel transmission kit for your 2005-2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD is designed to give your drivetrain a serious durability upgrade. You're getting a completely rebuilt and enhanced 48RE transmission, ready to handle much more power and torque than the stock unit. It also comes equipped with the Tapshifter system, giving you electronic control over gear selection, torque converter lock-up, and manual gear modes right from your fingertips.

Inside this transmission, you'll find a fully rollerized geartrain, with stock thrust washers replaced by roller Torrington bearings to save your governor solenoids and reduce friction. The intermediate shaft is drilled for improved lubrication, and the manual valve is modified to ensure lube in all gear positions. BD Diesel has also added heavy-duty clutches, with up to 25% more material than stock, and beefed-up pressure plates for the forward, overdrive, and direct clutch packs. The kit includes a high-temperature Raybestos band with a billet strut and anchor, plus a billet dual-ring accumulator piston for added strength. You also get BD's auxiliary full-flow filter kit for extra protection and a heavy-duty aluminum pan with heat-dissipating fins that adds extra oil capacity.

The Tapshifter system included in this kit features a new gear lever, a gear selection display, and a control module with a sealed plug-in wiring harness, meaning no cutting or tapping into your factory wiring is required.
