If you're looking to significantly upgrade the drivetrain on your 2005-2007 Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500, this BD Diesel transmission and torque converter package is built to handle serious power. It addresses common weak points in the stock 48RE transmission, giving you a more reliable and capable drivetrain.

BD Diesel has reinforced this transmission with a host of upgrades. The stock thrust bushings are replaced with roller Torrington bearings, and the intermediate shaft is drilled for better lubrication. You'll find a high-temperature Raybestos band, a billet band lever, and a billet band strut for added strength. The input shaft is also upgraded to a billet fine spline design to handle rapid throttle changes and higher horsepower. The valve body itself is modified for improved lubrication in all gear positions, and the governor pressure transducer is upgraded to handle twice the burst pressure of stock, with line pressure increased to 190-200 psi. This helps eliminate shuttle shifting issues and ensures consistent engagement.

The included torque converter is also enhanced for street and towing applications, featuring a trapezoid tooth design with tighter tolerances for smoother engagement and reduced wear. It has a cast stator designed to maximize torque multiplication and is built with thrust bearings instead of plastic washers. This package also comes with BD's rigid aluminum heavy-duty transmission pan, which adds 2 quarts of extra oil capacity and features heat-dissipating fins to keep temperatures down. An auxiliary full-flow filter kit is included for extra protection, along with a cooler line case saver. Every transmission is dyno-tested to ensure it performs as expected before it leaves the shop.
