Camburg machines these snouts in-house using aircraft-quality US 4340 chromoly steel, starting with a 5-inch billet bar. After initial machining, they are sent to a leading aerospace facility for heat-treating and stress relieving. The critical dimensions, including threads and bearing surfaces, are then machined to tight 0.001-inch tolerances. This part features the industry-standard Dana 44 bolt pattern, doubled up to a 4.00-inch pattern and registering into a 3.375-inch bore, ensuring a strong and precise fit. The production process leaves no stone unturned, utilizing only the best materials and methods to create a well-built component.

This snout comes complete with a locking-style spindle nut, which includes a ring that bolts to the face of the nut and registers into the snout for secure engagement. Camburg offers these in both right-hand and left-hand thread versions, so be sure to order one of each if you need a set. For installation, Camburg suggests using MSAS MS21250 3/8-inch 12-point hardware to attach these to machined spindle blocks, with safety wiring recommended for added security.
