Camburg machines these snouts in-house using aircraft-quality 4130 chromoly steel. They start with a solid billet bar and machine it to the final shape. To ensure it can handle the stresses of off-road or performance driving, the snouts are then sent out to a specialized aerospace facility for heat-treatment, which increases their strength and surface hardness. After the heat-treatment process, the critical dimensions and bearing surfaces are machined again, this time to very tight tolerances of 0.001 inches. This level of precision ensures a proper fit and function with your hubs.

These snouts are also what Camburg uses in their own complete rear end assemblies. Remember that these are sold individually, and you'll need to order one for each side if you're building a complete axle. Make sure to select the correct tubing size for your axle housing when ordering.
